Renaissance Street

In a tranquil garden setting at the park entrance, guests admire the 'Main Street Station' of the park which doubles as 'Chishiki Temple' that opens up the portal to these fanciful, romanticized worlds of the past, present, and future. As soon as you walk underneath the temple gates - you enter 'The Renaissance'

Rather than embody Walt Disney's hometown in Marceline, MO (something personal to Walt and Americana; less relevant for Japan), Renaissance Street accomplished the same goal as Main Street by welcoming guests into the park with a timepiece street that guides them towards a central icon. Only this time, it's themed to the European Renaissance throughout the 14th-17th Centuries.

Akin to Main Street in Disneyland, as you walk down a linear path from the entrance to the hub, you travel forward in time. The architecture of Renaissance Street reflects this change, as you begin in Florence inspired architecture, while transitioning into Venetian, Parisian, and other European styles representing everything from the High Renaissance to Mannerism (Late Renaissance). The immediate immersion into the medieval world sets the stage for the fanciful, romanticized versions of history's stories frozen in time.

1 - Dreamland Edo Railway ドリームランド江戸鉄道

The second level of the Temple is home to the Dreamland Edo Railway, a replica of the Class 150 steam locomotive by Volcan Foundry, part of Japan's first railway in 1871, tying a purpose for the railroad to Japan and the park as a whole. It makes one stop in Bushiland, within the sacred mountains, before returning.

2 - The Divine Mansion ディバイン・マンション

Screenshot (213).png

The Haunted Mansion is a staple of the Disney parks and other amusement parks around the world. Ironically though, the Mansion in Disney Parks is located in a different land for each iteration. New Orleans Sqaure (Disneyland), Liberty Square (Walt Disney World), Frontierland (Disneyland Paris), Fantasyland (Tokyo Disneyland), and the offshoot Mystic Manor at Mystic Point (Hong Kong Disneyland).

In keeping that same spirit, the 'Haunted Mansion' inspired attraction will be in the 'Main Street' of the park, Renaissance Street, and be themed around Dante Alighieri's work, The Divine Comedy. Most famous for its 'Inferno' chapter, the backstory for this attraction is exploring the beliefs that defined the Middle Ages. On this slow moving dark ride adventure, guests will be escorted into a Gothic Cathedral Mansion that provides the passageway into 'the Inferno'. Guests descend through 4 levels (floors) of the attraction, with the surrounding effects displayed via motion-based robotics and digital special effects.

Blueprint of the Level Descent and Ascent in The Divine Mansion

While dark themes are omnipresent throughout the Inferno section of The Divine Comedy, the effects and story in the attraction will be presented in a family-oriented and edutainment fashion, illustrating the depths of the underworld through a more cogent lens. Furthermore, the finale of the attraction brings the guests up from the depths into Paradiso, offering an uplifting (pardon the pun) ending to the attraction.

Attraction Length: 7 minutes, 30 seconds; Capacity: 2,120 guests per hour,

3 - Rinascita リナシータ

Live Action Role Playing (LARP) is a popular form of story-telling and has never truly been explored in theme parks before. Given the edutainment of the park's philosophy, and the Middle Ages land you enter at the park's beginning, Rinascita will be a role playing 'attraction' that acts like an enhanced version of an Escape Room attraction. Defend the King and Queen from invading tribes and create your own version of a Renaissance man or woman in this adventure.
