Jurassic Encounter

Attraction Description

Blueprint

Queue

The queue is themed to the old Visitors Center from the original Jurassic Park. The front is aged with cracks in the building and plants growing around it. Once you enter, you see bones, stairs blocked off by rubble, and a fallen sign that reads 'When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth'. A Jurassic Park worker is there by a door, letting a certain amount of people in at a time. As guests continue down the path, they come across a dark, moss ridden room with a giant screen on each side. The door behind the guests close, and Dennis Nedry (played by Wayne Knight in makeup to look young) appears on screen in a digitalized form. He seems panicked and quickly explains the situation. He says:

'Hello. Thhhis is Dennis Nedry. They're coming. We need to make this quick. There's a Barbasol can out in the jungles of Isla Nublar, and I'm tasking you with going to get it. You need to get it to Dodgson at Biosyn, he'll probably be hiding under a large hat, but don't worry, nobody cares who he is. I installed an autopilot to the security jeeps. You need to get in and get that can. Oh...and you really don't have a choice, since all the doors have been locked and the only way out is to the jeeps. Hahaha Good luck!'.

The video ends, and doors to your left open to reveal the ride vehicles.

Ride Vehicles

The ride vehicles are designed to replicate the look and feel of the original Jurassic Park jeeps from the 1993 film. However, the jeeps will be aged and worn down to simluate the years that they have been sitting idol, similar to how they looked in 2015 film Jurassic World. There are 2 seats in the front with a 90s computer screen on the dashboard, and the back seats are elevated to an open roof with two tranqulizer guns attatched to the sides. The ride will be indoors and dark to simulate the nighttime and the vehicles will be guided by underground sensors which navigate them around the show building.

The two people in the jeep are tasked with solving a few puzzles on a touch screen in the dashboard, while the autopilot software talks to them and the drivers up on the back seats.  The first puzzle is just to type in what they want to do. If they don't say please, this pops up:

The computer asks them to say please. Once please is typed the 1st or 2nd time, The monitor initiates 'Firewall 1'. Each puzzle is a new firewall puzzle in 8 bit style and the order of puzzles is as follows:

  • Drag the dot across the path to the exit

  • Fill in the blanks: dinosaur edition

  • Get the dinosaur out of the maze

The maze is programmed to take to long to finish. And the longer you take the louder the stomps become. Until...

Out of the remains of the electric fence you see a massive AA T-Rex approach the side of your vehicle. It breathes, slowly yet terrifyingly. Once your firewall has been removed and you're on manual control, the computer beeps which sets the T-Rex off as it roars. You press the return to Visitor Center icon on the dashboard and your vehicle takes off to espace the T-Rex clutches at speeds up to 40 mph. The visceral audio makes you feel like the T-Rex is right behind you the entire time. As the ride slows you see the T-Rex right behind the vehicle. At this time, the two riders in the back pick up the tranquilizer guns and shoot at the T-Rex right before it eats you! As your vehicle slows down you see the Barbasol can sticking out of a bush to your left. But then a dilophosaurus appears out of the bush holding the can and screeches at you. Your vehicle then manuvers its way back to the unload station

Ride-Through

The ride slowly moves out of the loading dock and traverses through the untamed jungles of Isla Nublar. Suddenly, you see towering gates in front of you. As it comes into view, you realize that it's the original Jurassic Park gates covered in the overgrown shrubbery and decay.  The doors let out an omnious screech as they open and your vehicle continues forward into the unknown.

The terrain begins to get rougher as you journey further through the jungle. On your right you see a damaged Jurassic Park jeep rotting away in the wilderness, clawed up by what looks like a very powerful dinosaur. You begin to get concerned as your vehicle turns to reveal a damaged eletrical fence on your left. The vehicle stops in front of the torn down fence.

As you look around, you hear thunderous stomps in the distance, that shake the vehicle. On the computer screen you see what looks to be a computer virus speading through the vehicle's system and Nedry's voice in the background: "Looks like you have a problem on your hands. I must have left this spyware on the jeeps. Opps, looks like you're going to have to get yourselves out!"
