Backstory
You begin in the lobby and traverse through the door to SPARK Tech and the iOS Labs - where you are introduced to Dr. Dee Signer, who tells you about the virtual reality techniques that allow people to use their imagination to tell a story.

You also meet Sparky - a magical marker that will guide you on your journey through the iOS labs and your first canvas trip through the land of imagination. The imagination canvas is a virtual reality 3D environment where dreamers and designers can create their works in utilizing anything the mind has to offer. Any swipe on the touchscreen will pop up on the white digitally enhanced walls around you, illuminating it with your creations. As the attraction continues, you and your pod-mates go through several processes of creation - from sketching to landscape to painting, etc - that at the end, you can then save your final draft to your MagicBand and Photopass+ to take home with you.

The purpose of this attraction is something unique in any Disney theme park -
you create your own attraction. You imagine your surroundings, and as you continue to build your narrative, your surroundings react and begin to come alive around you - making for one of the most memorable experiences at Epcot and at Disney World as a whole.

Interactive Queue
Throughout the Queue, several SPARK Tech creations are available to test out and play with as you walk around. In addition - there are quotes lining the upper portions of the walls from famous creative and intuitive people from history including Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, and Walt Disney.

Ride Vehicle

Each creation pod will seat 4 guests (rows back to back). In front of each guest will be a 12x16" iPad touchscreen installed into the vehicle. On this touchscreen will be a variety of options to draw and create with and will be described how to use in the pre-show practice before the attraction begins:

Pencil - Landscaping Tools - Colored Paint - Props - Special Effects

For novice designers - there is an auto-adjust option at the end of every segment - to make your images as clear and proficient as possible, helping everyone young and old, design beautiful creations.

Ride Technology Explained

iSpecs

Specialized 3D glasses that allow interactivity with the environment. The iSpecs will sync up to the projection screens in front of your pods and as you draw your designs on the touchscreen in front of you, they will popup in 3D. Any special effects you add to your creations will also popup in 3D as well...along with a variety of other effects during the duration of the attraction.

The iSpecs are unique from other 3D glasses because they will feel more realistic than typical 3D glasses. Instead of being able to easily distinguish 3D screen technology from the 3D environment you are surrounded by - these glasses will make the surroundings and your creations feel much more life-life, completely encapsulating you in your imagination.

Projection Technology

The projection tech will be state of the art as well - employing a new Apple Inc. system of 3D effects to further enhance the ride experience. As hinted at above, you will be immersed in a completely unique and visceral landscape - made possible by the iSpecs and surrounding projection effects.

Pre-Show (3D Hologram)

After you wind through the interactive queue - you come to a 4 minute pre-show area where Sparky - the first invention by SPARK tech - a talking imaginative magic marker - helps you learn about the technology you will be working with in the attraction.

Example of "Sparky" - the magical marker host of the attraction

How this helpful magic marker arrives is one of the most innovative designs in the entire attraction - using Apple's new 3D Hologram patent, guests will place their hand down on a platform, press down, and pull up - to reveal the 3D Sparky!

For the 4 minute pre-show, Sparky helps you test out the different tools you will use during the attraction:

Pencil - used for the first draft and rough sketch of the canvas

Landscaping Tools - After you draw your initial sketch - the software and algorithm in the creation pod and in your iPad - will then interpret your designs and compute them into amazing imagery. This way - everyone is an artist and can proceed to further customization phases of the attraction

Colored Paint - This is where the fun begins. Using a color wheel that appears on your touch screen - or using motion activation on the projection screens - you can tap and paint your canvas in anyway you like - and once again at the end of the time period for paint - the computer hones everything in and perfects it.

Props and Special Effects - The final creation phase - you can input a variety (about 200 different objects/effects) of embedded objects and effects stored on the vehicles into your creations - for example if you are designing a winter scene - you can make it snow all around you. It's the "finale of sorts" to your creation.

Once the tutorial/pre-show is complete, Sparky says he'll see you in the iOS Labs and he disappears away from the hologram pad as you proceed to the loading area.

Ride-Through
There will be 1.5 minute pauses at each creation section to design your canvas - the load/unload process will also be 1.5 minute (45 seconds each) - Therefore, the vehicles will move simultaneously from one section of the attraction to the next.
(blueprint of ride through process)

Ride-Through Timetable
Load - slow moving path (45 seconds)
Scene 1 - stop (90 seconds)
*move to next scene* (10 seconds)
Scene 2 - stop (90 seconds)
*move to next scene* (10 seconds)
Scene 3 - stop (90 seconds)
*move to next scene* (10 seconds)
Scene 4 - stop (90 seconds)
*move to next scene* (10 seconds)
Scene 5 - stop (90 seconds)
*move to next scene* (10 seconds)
Scene 6 - stop (90 seconds)
*move to next scene* (10 seconds)
Unload - slow moving path (30 seconds)

Scene 1 - The White Room

As you leave the loading area, you will enter a white room that begins to fill with color and music begins to soar around you in a majestic way. You see the color of the designs of past riders of the day. (If the attraction is just opening, it would be of the day's prior) - but the room fills up with an eclectic variety of effects and maybe gives you, the creator, some inspiration yourself, as you meet up with Sparky as you transition into the next scene as he tells you to get excited and get your imagination ready!

Scene 2 - Sketch Phase

As you leave the loading area, you will enter a white room that begins to fill with color and music begins to soar around you in a majestic way. You see the color of the designs of past riders of the day. (If the attraction is just opening, it would be of the day's prior) - but the room fills up with an eclectic variety of effects and maybe gives you, the creator, some inspiration yourself, as you meet up with Sparky as you transition into the next scene as he tells you to get excited and get your imagination ready!

Scene 2 - Sketch Phase

In this phase of the attraction you stop and begin your sketch - in this example we are going to design a mountain landscape. You make your sketches and the click the auto adjust button to enhance and enable your drawing to develop into the next phase of the canvas.

Scene 3 - Landscaping Phase

As you have your sketch reappear in front of you in the next leg of the adventure - you then landscape it, but cropping, enlarging, and bolding certain items you want pronounced in the canvas. You can then click the auto-adjust button and continue on the journey after you have finished this 1.5 minute section.

Scene 4 - Painting Phase

Another very fun section - this is where you get to make your scene in whatever color pallet you want. Sparky will pop up in the left hand corner of your iSpecs to give you some advice for the last two sections (this one and the next one) telling you what colors might look good given your landscape.

You can then drag and drop from the paint button into the design- and then auto complete it so now you have a fully painted design.

Scene 5 - Props and Special Effects Phase
In this phase, the final design phase - you can add effects to your creation. In this example - since we have a mountain landscape - we can make it snow, and in your iSpecs it'll appear like it's snowing right in front of you.

There will be other areas of usage like Smellizters that'll make it smell like trees for the scene as you continue - giving you the feeling that you are actually in the mountains.

At the end - Sparky tells you how great you did with your design - and your creation can be saved by tapping your magic band to the screen in front of you - which you can do as the pods transition into the finale sequence.

Scene 6 - Kaleidoscope Tunnel

Sparky - so excited by everyones work, spins the vehicles 90 degrees away from the canvas screens.

The canvas shrink and fold up into tiny crystals as Sparky tells the guests how great their imaginations were - and now he would like to try.

A kaleidoscope style effect surrounds the guests as they continue through the tunnel, the music swells and Sparky expands the canvas - changing and manipulating the color patters around you in a mesmerizing way

Let's try this! He says and a shooting star warps half of the screen, sending it into a rainbow style kaleidoscope

Then the shapes soon turn into butterflies, all lined up in multiple colors - as Sparky tells the guests that everything in life starts with one simple idea - and one simple idea can shape the world

The music soars and the butterflies break away and swirl around the guests as they turn into confetti

The confetti then morphs into a rainbow tunnel for the finale, as the music mellows out. The rainbow tunnel being a nod to the original rainbow tunnel on the second floor of the Imagination Pavilion. As the rainbow fades away with the background music - the lights come on and you exit your vehicle.
