Figment: A Disney Kingdoms Special

One little spark, of inspiration
Is at the heart, of all creation.
Right at the start, of everything that's new.
One little spark, lights up for you.

Two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow.
Horn of a steer, but a lovable fellow.
From head to tail, he's royal purple pigment.
And there, viola!, you've got a Figment!

We all have sparks, imaginations.
That's how our minds, create creations.
For they can make, our wildest dreams come true.
Those magic sparks, in me and you.

Imagination, imagination.
A dream, can be a dream come true.
With just that spark, in me and you.

Replacing Captain EO will be a Figment centered animatronic show based on the hit comic series that began in 2014. The comic series has been a hit sensation as of late wit fans and new fans alike - which tells the origins of Dreamfinder and Figment. In this 25 minute continuing running show - similar to continuous shows like the Country Bear Jamboree - you will fly into the land of imagination with Figment and Dreamfinder on this whimsical adventure as a part of the iMagination Pavilion - via the utilization of various Apple lighting and projection products throughout the show to make it a visual masterpiece for guests.

Rather than going right in the lobby atrium, if you veer left - the iMagination Pavilion shifts from a chromatic flair on the outside and inside - to more of a steampunk design on the interior where the Figment show originates. With the comics based in 1910 and the origins of the two iconic Epcot characters - you enter the "Dream Theater" of the pavilion - and are immediately immersed with more of a dark lighted tone and more of a steampunk vibe around the facades of the interior theater.

In the queue/waiting area for the attraction - you can look at the
The main stage of the 200 seat theater looks as if it is the front of Dreamfinder's blimp - however in fact - it's a warehouse reminiscent of the Academy Scientifica-Lucidus, where a young, eager student - Blarion Mercurial had been studying in London.

Show Design

The show area of the theater is divided into several sections - some with rotating parts to fill specific scenes.

In the center is the main theater stage where animatronics rise from the ground for particular scenes, and the Apple TV HD backdrop provides the realistic landscape for each scene. On the sides of the main theater stage are two rotating areas that will have animatronics in them - these areas will change based on the scene.

From above there will be one animatronic that will come down in a particular scene from out of the ceiling and then rise back up.

Act I
As the curtains open you see Blarion Mercurial experimenting on his invention called the Integrated Mesmonic Converter, or IMC. Blarion is worried that the Chairman of his school, Chairman Illocrant, has doubts that his project will succeed. Blarion works on the Spark Convertor and suddenly brings an imaginary creature to life - named Figment.

Figment comes down out of the ceiling and talks with Blarion. The two work on the IMC and ultimately end up creating a machine that is capable of interdimensional travel via thought energy. Chairman Illocrant sees the invention and demands that Blarion and Figment shut it down. But in their attempts to shut it down - they are accidently warped in the machine and travel through a portal into another dimension as the curtains close.

Act II

As the scene opens, Blarion and Figment are on a colorful landscape of Imagination. The two converse together and sing "One Little Spark" In their singing - they have a "brainstorm" which causes the scene to change into a thunderstorm. The song quickly ends and they need to find a safe place from the storm. When they find shelter, they find a furry creature called Chimera - who likes to eat metal - and tries to eat Blarion's pocketwatch - which prompts Blarion to explain the origins of the watch and how it was given to him by his mother. Figment senses that they may need to get back and stop the IMC, as Illocrant may have taken control of it. IN a thought cloud above their heads, they can see that Illocrant is attempting to take over London with an interdimensional creature known as the Singular. Blairion and Figment then construct a Blimp to fly them back to London and stop Illocrant from destruction.

Act III

As the curtains open once more you see the Singular in the corner of the background looking to destroy the countryside. Out of the corner of the screen Blarion and Figment sail in the winds and into the picture. Illocrant and Blarion have a strong debate and Illocrant demands that the Singular defeat Blarion. However, Figment jumps in to defend Blairion and destroys the Singular leading to Illocrant retreating into the forests.

Blarion suggests that the Chairman will be back someday - and we need a location where he and Figment can create and imagine more - because there will be more ways they will need to use their inventiveness to save the day in the future. Figment says - he may know a place - follow the bouncing Figment!

You travel among the clouds through a variety of Dreamlands in Figments mind - and then wind up looking at an 18 story geosphere - that you almost crash into!

But Blarion steers away and lands next to glass pyramids - the pyramids outside the pavilion. Blarion is then given the nickname Dreamfinder, by Figment - and the two creative pals enter to dream up more inventions and discoveries (in the theater that you are in)

The show ends with characters of Dreamfinder and Figment coming out in live-character form - thanking you for experiencing their backstory with them - and they hope to see you all again soon - reminding you all you need to change the world is...one little spark.

The song carries the guests out of the show and back out onto the patio outside the iMagination Pavilion after going through the exit doors from the theater. Outside the theater are Figment and Dreamfinder merchandise locations, as well as an occasional meet and greet at certain times throughout the day.

iMagination 2nd Floor

As you exit Createoscope - you can either travel forward towards the small giftshop area - or you can climb the musical stairs to an interactive play zone on the 2nd floor of the pavilion - newly reopened and refurbished.

The piano stair case offers guests a fun and whimsical trek up the stairs - as a makeshift appetizer to what lies ahead.

The iThink Interactive Zone is divided up into three themed areas - and a quick service cafe.

In the music section of the iThink Interactive area - the piano staircase is an appetizer for what is in store. Venturing off to the left of the staircase once you get to the top - you will see various motion sensor instruments that you can make your own music too. In addition - several iPods are scattered around - as well as Apple sub-woofers - which echo the base of the soundtracks and make the area boom with symphony.

You can also create your own music video to be placed on your PhotoPass+ to take home - with pictures and images custom made and fine tuned with the music of your choice - with over 100 of the top hits of pop and rock of the current times - this area is constantly updated to keep with the growing marketplace.

As you meander your way through the various zones, you can enter into the ArtZone - which features several fun areas for kids and adults. You can "Paint the Night" in a dark room where you can go in with a "magic" pen that illuminates the ceiling with your designs. You can also learn from some of Disney's top artists as well - as there will be a station with an illustrator from WDI that will sit and teach kids and adults their method for drawing and how they create some of the most popular characters using nothing but their own creativity and imagination.

On the back wall is a swirling rainbow with various quotes of famous illustrators and inventors that have shaped the future and Disney's future as a whole - such as Mary Blair, Tony Baxter, and Walt Disney himself.

Similar to the post-show of Test Track sponsored by GM - the post show of the attraction and pavilion sponsored by Apple - shows off Apple products that can be looked at and tested out in the Technology Zone. With a running film in the background about how they make their products and how advanced the iProducts have become - the guests can same everything from iWatches to iPhones, iPads, new Macs, and more - as this will be a showcase for Apple and their new products - being updated consistently throughout its timespan.

Cafe Disco

Adjacent to the Music Zone is Cafe Disco - a quick service venue that serves an eclectic variety of items - and is special due to its unique menu for a quick service location.
