Coming in the Summer of 1979, experience the wonder and amazement of people and places in Disney's World Center Boardwalk. This Boardwalk is a 21st century spin on the classic shows and amusement rides found at a boardwalk or pier, by mixing in different cultures and Disney's “Edu-tainment” initiative.

The Boardwalk will open with 10 clusters. Each Cluster containing a Pavillion based  on a country or area of the world. Each Pavilion consists of a hotel, attraction, shops, restaurants, and cultural entertainment. Each Pavilion is 2x the size of the showcase Pavilions in the World Showcase at Epcot, not including hotel rooms and attractions; this makes the boardwalk more immersive than the current nations at Epcot in today's current timeline.

The Boardwalk Pavilions are in this order on the map East to West: Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Greece, Jordan, Greece, Italy, Germany, England, Norway, France, Spain, Japan, India, Thailand, China, Russia, Australia, South Pacific, Canada, First Nations, and America.

The Boardwalks Pavilions by opening dates are as follows:

1979 - Mexico, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Japan, China, South Pacific, Canada, First Nations, and America

1981 - Germany adds attraction

1982 - Jordan, Russia, and Thailand/ United Kingdom receives Expansion

1984 - Morocco, Jordan, and Brazil/ Russia opens attraction/ Italy receives expansion

1988 - Norway / China receives attraction

1989 - India and Egypt open

1991 - Australia opens

1995 - Australia opens attraction / Egypt receives attraction/ Jordan Receives Attraction

1996 - South Africa adds attraction

2001 - Brazil adds attraction/ Canada adds attraction/Spain adds attraction

2016 - Norway receives a Frozen inspired attraction

2017 - South Pacific opens Moana inspired attraction

Though the Boardwalk area has always been free admission to guests, the attractions have not, resulting in popularity Walt Disney World and Epcot City. The ticket system for the Disney's World Center Boardwalk begins very similar to what was previously used in the 1960s-70s at the Theme Parks, with guests using A, B, C, D, and E tickets for the Attractions. Some A tickets were used to try samples of cuisine at several different pavilions in the early days.

With the giant expansion in 1982, Walt Disney World sought out to change the ticketing system throughout the resort. This resulted in one, two, and three day "World Passports" Where guests could enjoy amenities of Theme Parks or World Center Boardwalk, almost an early form of the Park Hopper. An Annual pass option for the Parks and World Center Boardwalk were sold separately and combined to people in Magic Kingdom Club members (1966-1981), Club 66 members, and EPCOT City. Reduced rates were given to people that worked inside Epcot City or Airport. Admission was and is free to Cast Members and families.

In the early through mid 90's the tickets finally went to as what we know today: the single park ticket system, with different names.

"World Center Attraction Pass" was introduced for all attractions in the Boardwalk. This still continues as a base ticket for Boardwalk Attractions today.

The "Around the World" Super Pass gave guests the option throughout their time visiting Walt Disney World to visit Park to Park with unlimited World Showcase Center access. The "Around the World" Value Pass gave guests one standard park or World Boardwalk Center base ticket a day throughout their time visiting Walt Disney World.

The Annual Pass received the name "Disney's Magical Passport" throughout the early to mid 90's, until officially calling it the "Castle Club" in 1998.

The Late 90's through today saw the dawn of the "Park Hopper".

The "World Standard Pass" was similar to it's previous incarnation as the "Around the World" Value Pass.

"Around the World"  Park Hopper Pass was exactly the same as the "Around the World" Super Pass.

"Key to the World" Park Hopper Passes was also introduced. This is similar to today's Water Park Fun & More option. The World Showcase Boardwalk's attractions were seen as a "& More" activity on the pass.

Epcot attractions started using the Fastpass System in 2000 for the Olympic crowds. The World Center Boardwalk is the only place on property that still uses paper Fastpasses.

Mexico

The surroundings of the Mexico Pavilion are a more elaborate version of the Pavilion we know today, with a MesoAmerican pyramid and other historical finds nearby. Hotel rooms surround the outskirts and the center of the Pavilion.

You can find several shows with comedic "Archeologist" throughout the day, explaining their different items they've found on a boat ride near Mexico City. (Subtly tying into The River of Time Attraction nearby) This is an edutainment show, and does include history of the civilization.

When you walk into the pavilion, guests walk into a room with mist and fog, depicting ruins from the Aztec civilization. You can hear the pounding of old Aztec drums as you go farther.....

You may even see some Mexican wildlife along the way. (Depicted by AAs)

As you head farther into the Jungle you start to hear the sounds of a fiesta, and then see a small Mexican town down a small staircase.

It seems to be not to far from Mexico city, as you can see the skyline of the city in the background, at sunset.

In the town, there are many things for guests to experience. Such as glass, pottery, a wood carving shop, and other crafts are found along the streets of the town. A live Mariachi band also comes out ever so often. A kidot fun stop with "edutainment" on the history of different Mexican fiestas around the year

The La Cava del Tequila, which is a tequila bar with a vast collection of tequilas, specialty margaritas and light Mexican appetizers, hosted by tequila "connoisseurs" that interact with park guests.

Found near the water is La Puesta del sol en Baja. Serving Mexican dishes with a twist taken from the seafood and coast style Baja California foods. These style dishes have more of the style to what Americans call, "Mexican Food" (Usually a Tex Mex Combination) along with more seafood options - and will be more at home to tourist discovering the Pavilion.

If you're looking for something more authentic, The La Historia Restaurante actually boasts views of the Aztec scenes in El Rio de Tiempo, all while serving dishes that are more classic. The atmosphere compliments the exterior of the Pavilion and the showscenes nearby.

Last but not least, guests may also discover the star attraction of Pavilion, El Rio De Tiempo (Also known as The River of Time).

India

The exterior of the India Pavilion is completely stunning, with a smaller replica of the Tajma Hall and a reflection pool dropping into a waterfall into the World Showcase Lagoon. A small, outdoor theatre for musicians right outside the structure can also be found excellently themed.

The Taj Mahal serves as an entrance to the Pavilion. You can choose to experience the Marvels of India Movie inside, as a prequel to the Dubai Streets, or enter through a doorway on either side. The Marvels of India Movie is interactive with the interior of the Structure, with custom screens. The movie encompasses the history, customs, and today's culture in India.

- New Pavilion Map for 66's World Boardwalk Center will be designed -

Inside the Pavilion features small shops that feature gifts and curios from India. Various entertainment and characters will also be on the streets throughout the day, check your times guide for more information.

Inside one of the Streets will be the The Grand Bombay Restaurant. Similar to the Agrabah Cafe Buffet at Disneyland Paris, this restaurant will feature city street-like seating breakfast and dinner options will feature character meals with characters from The Jungle Book and Aladdin. The menu centers around classic tandoori dishes and other delicious items depending on the chef.

Inside the Bombay theatre will be a 45 minute musical spectacular rendition of The Jungle Book. This musical will feature a half jazz and Indian instrument score. The costumes and the play will be on the same wavelength as Broadway’s The Lion King and Animal Kingdom’s Finding Nemo: The Musical. This show always attracts massive crowds while being a favorite for families alike in the World Showcase. Check your times guide for more information.

South Africa

This train's story is bringing guests on a journey from CapeTown to Harambe (The Themed Station at Disney's Animal Wildlife Reserve), which takes a turn when a poacher's camp is found along the sidelines discussing plans to kidnap a  Big Red and Little Red, a mother and baby Elephant. After the conductor contacts a habitat warden and a scientist, guests are then recruited by the cast members on board to be on the lookout for any more information.

On the way, guests also see different scenic re-creations of African landscapes.

Later in the attraction, with Guests finding Little Red and Big Red as the poachers are chased off by authorities.

The ride ends entering into Harambe Station, with several newspaper headlines stating the search for Little and Big Red has ended and a congratulations from Cast members is given for helping on the search.

The Ride from Harambe Station to CapeTown is much different than the one there, focusing more on the African Landscapes and replicating scenes from the True Life Adventure Series.

Australia

Goodday Mates, and Welcome to The Australia Pavilion! This pavilion’s design mixes the wonder of Australia’s wondrous cities with its wild Outback.

The “town” sections exterior matches city structures of Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. Here guests can explore gift shops, a themed Ticket Kiosk, and an Adventures by Disney: Australia booth. Across the way from the Australian town is a smaller replica of the Sydney Opera House, where Finding Nemo : The Musical (Formally the original location of Visions of Australia show and extra private event space) takes place. The musical follows the story of the hit pixar film with music and over-the-top Broadway set pieces.

Greece

The surroundings of the Greece Pavilion are lush and green, with a Ancient Grecian Feel. The center of the Pavilion features a smaller Replica of the Parthenon. Inside the Parthenon is an eatery called The Olive Tree.

The Olive Tree

The Olive Tree Storyline is based on the legend that Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, gave the Greeks the olive tree. Which is why the center of the restaurant is a giant olive tree wrapping all around the interior of the restaurant, with carved stories from Greek mythology showcased throughout the tree. Statues depicting Greek Gods and Goddesses are also throughout the Restaurant. During lunch for quick service, statues and olive tree carvings stand in stone. However at night, they come to life for table service meals (Via Projection and AA technology).

Mythos: The Tale of Greece

This attraction begins in the queue, themed to a Museum in Greece, where guests see various artwork, historical pieces, and moments photographed throughout Greek history.

As you enter the pre-show, guests funnel into a room surrounded by Greek Pottery as the door closes.

Then, pretty much a recreation of this scene from Hercules happens. The Muses come to life on the pottery in front of guests, offering to show them the Heroes of Greek history, as only the Muses can, in Disney comedy style. A piece of pottery grows in size and opens the painted doors on the piece, and guests go through the art piece.

This attraction then takes guests on Greek pottery style vehicles, on a wild telling of Heroes throughout Grecian history, such as Achilles, Jason, Odysseus, Perseus, Theseus....

And yes, a spectacular Hercules scene does take place in the attraction, pretty much the same as the Zero the Hero number in the movie.

The ending is a revised rendition of "A Star is Born" from the movie to include the "edutainment" aspect from the attraction, adding in parts about the other heroes/

This zany ride is a Fastpass attraction, so reserve your adventure today!

Italy

This attraction is slated for the Italian Pavilion. (some elements of Vatican City will be included as well) The pavilion will be centered in Rome and focus on the Renaissance as well as the evolution of science, theology, art, music, etc from the Renaissance into the next centuries.

The main attraction will be an omnimover dark ride that will look back in time at some of Italy's most brilliant achievements and how it left its mark on history.

I'll do the landscape descriptions later - but I wanted to get the dark ride draft up now - hope you enjoy!

Scoperta

(translated to "discovery" in Italian)

Ride vehicle - an omnimover system, however i'm stilling working on what it will look like.

Possibly might look like this Leonardo Da Vinci invention on the left. 2x2 seating, with each car connected together in a chain.

Queue - Possibly through a replica of the Sistine Chapel, with switchbacks (like the Great Movie Ride queue) while everyone gazes at the ceiling (instead of a movie screen)

Ride-Through - Since this attraction will open somewhere in the 1970s, a prominent voiceover narration of that time (preferably Italian) will be doing the narration for the attraction. Initial thoughts were Al Martino, Al Pacino, etc...but I really don't have that pegged down yet. If anyone has any suggestions feel free. I'm looking for a Jeremy Irons type voice to, in a sense, control the mood of the attraction to emulate the 1994-2006 Spaceship Earth style attraction.

Scene 1 - Dante Alighieri and the Middle Ages

You begin your journey by ascending through a dark, starry environment, acting as a transition period to your journey back through time. The narration begins:

"From literature, to language, from music, to art, from science, to religion, the Italian heritage is one of rich innovation and discovery. The birth of new knowledge, and the source of new beginnings, all disseminating from this unique culture of endeavors. For generations, Italians have persevered and pursued the quest for invention."

Scene transitions to Florence as you see an animatronic of Dante Alighieri, writing his Divine Comedy, with Florence out the window in the background

"Born in Florence in 1265 a.d., Dante Alighieri would go on to write his Divina Commedia, completed in 1320, which is widely considered to be the greatest literary work in the Italian language, and one of the most profound works of literature around the world. His vision of the afterlife represents the medieval world view and philosophy of religion so profoundly, in particular the Inferno, that his allegories stretched far and wide throughout the ages.

His discussion of mathematical and numerical patterns, in addition to discussing a spherical earth, contradicting the flat earth theory, would be an evolutionary theme that would resonate with many going forward"

Scene 2 - Filippo Brunelleschi

Scene transitions from Dante's window in Florence, to the city of Florence and the construction of the Florence Cathedral, with Filippo Brunelleschi overseeing it.

"From profound literature, to the first modern engineer, Florence's Filippo Brunelleschi was one of the first funding fathers of the Renaissance, well known for his engagement in linear perspective, a mathematical vision based engineering philosophy dependent on mirrors and geometry, that would govern and revolutionize the depiction of space until the late 19th century. His work not only reinforced Christian spiritual reality, but also gave rise to modern science, continuing the evolution of both fields into the Renaissance."

Scene 3/4/5 - The Trinity of the High Renaissance

Rather than a reliance on the one person per scene pattern that we have been progressing on, Scenes 3/4/5 will be a montage of the High Reinassance of Italy, focusing on the Trinity of artists that shaped the era, Michelangelo, Raphael, (no not the ninja turtles) and Leonardo Da Vinci

The scene will flow with giant murals of the various paintings of the artists scattered throughout a large art studio that will progress as the scene goes on into works of art and design that shape the "contemporary" Italian culture.

Violin music (also an italian invention) echoes through the scenes, creating a majestic background to the illustrations

The Last Judgement - Michaelangelo

School of Athens - Raphael

The Last Supper - Leonardo Da Vinci

A transitional period out of the High Reinassance brings you into darkness and (similar to the computer tunnel of spaceship earth) you are surrounded by revolving numbers and symbols.

Scene 6 - Fibonacci Sequence and Mathematics

You are introduced to the Fibonacci Sequence, a famous integer sequence where every number in it is the sum of its two preceding numbers.

You also see Avogadro's Number 6.02 x10^23 circling around in the sky, as the narrator continues to profess the advancements in science deriving from Italian descent.

And mathematical equations and formulas circle around your omnimovers

Scene 7 - Galaxy

Now this is the coolest part of the attraction in my opinion. You are in a dark tunnel, music beginning to swell, and the Fibonacci sequence numbers begin to swirl and an IMAX screen to 180 degrees around your omnimover, and swirl into the picture above. As it swirls into the sequence, the room begins to illuminate with stars all around the screen, and the music evolves even more.

A second Fibonacci sequence comes into view, and combines with the one in front of you, before it dissolves into a spiraling galaxy.

*Quick sidenote, this was the first image of the attraction I had when I was thinking about it, and the rest of the attraction has evolved off of this. Something about this just felt, Epcot-y, and I wanted to include it.

Scene 8 - Galileo and the Earth

Okay, so after the transition to the galaxy, you turn down and see St. Mark's Square and Galileo looking through a telescope at the stars above.

The narrator continues about the perseverance of Galileo and his persecution as a result, however his persistence lead to the revolutionary theory of the earth revolving around the sun, changing modern theological thinking as well as scientific discovery, based on his observation of the moons of Jupiter revolving around Jupiter

The disavowing of the geocentric model was a revolutionary point in history, that would shape the way we think about our world.

Scene 9 - Conclusion

As the omnimover turns towards the unloading dock, you have a montage of some of the other inventions and discoveries made by Italians, up to the present day.

Some of the inventions and discoveries include:

Barometer, Carbon Paper, Espresso, Eyeglasses, Induction Motor, Newspaper, Nitroglycerin, Opera, and more

Much like the small world ending where you see "good-bye" in different languages, a montage of all the Italian inventions will encircle your vehicles, as you are told that while Italians have a rich history, this is only the beginning of the discovery. After that you reach the unload platform.

Canada

Based in Whistler Village, it will be a small quaint town with a mountain backdrop

The village itself will have small shops with historical Canadian merchandise. And a walkthrough gallery through Canada's history through a painting room.

There will be a quick service place serving maple fudge candy among other delicious treats

The full service dine in restaurant will be a steakhouse similar to Le Cellier in World Showcase at Epcot, but more elaborate in size and scale.

The two attractions

One will be a gondola simulator to the top of the Canadian Rockies. The other more involved attraction will be a boat ride through Canada along its rivers and through its valleys, exploring cities such as Quebec, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and more. It will explore the Canadian culture of the past and present and how it will shape the future of the country.

I will expand on this more as time goes on, but this is my first idea. Any other thoughts would help as well. Thank you for including me.

China

Steeped in the culture and heritage of China, the China Pavilion on the World Showcase Boardwalk will offer outstanding visual cues, fine dining experiences, and a walkthrough attraction of a Chinese Garden.

On the approach to the Pavilion, either in day or night, the attention to detail is apparent, and the authenticity of the design is unmistakable.

There are three main points of interest in the China Pavilion:

The Restaurant - China Moon

The Walk-Through - Tapestry of Gardens

The Main Gift Shop - Essence of China

China Moon will feature a menu similar to Nine Dragons in China in Epcot World Showcase.

Tapestry of Gardens

The most visually stunning area will be a peaceful and relaxing stroll through the Tapestry of Gardens, the main attraction of the Chinese Pavilion. While you can learn about the history of the great nation, or dine on its cuisine, the gardens offer guests an area to simply...relax and unwind. Especially outside of the 4 main parks, having an area to relax is very much needed.

The Gift Shop will sell an eclectic variety of valuables specific to China and Chinese culture.

Holiday Seasonal Overlay - Chinese New Year

Especially around the time of the Chinese New Year - it will be decked out in lights at night to celebrate the New Year.

Japan

Welcome to the Japan pavilion a giant castle gate greets us to the rest of the pavilion but outside the gate is a dock for world showcase transportation and a tea and authentic snack garden. The Authentic Tea and Snack Garden is a small quick service with seating in a Japanese garden with a small pond and pink leaves as shade.

Inside the Walls is both a E ticket attraction and a 5  star restaurant. The restaurant is located in a Japanese palace inspired by Osaka castle. The restaurant titled Osaka is a classic food is cooked in front of you style for Japanese food.

Also in this courtyard is a small Japanese art shop and a much larger Japan pop culture shop hidden behind the castle. With items from Pokemon various anime to someday studio ghibli.

Bullet Train Thru Mount Fuji

But the true E ticket and one of the only thrill rides at the showcase is Bullet Train Thru Mount Fuji. Sponsored by the company of a similar name Fuji Film it is a hybrid dark ride coaster. The replica of Mount Fuji is one of the highest points at the resort and is the most expensive part of the pavilion. The coaster has a power launch but no inversions. The dark ride is around 35% of the ride.

The queue of the attraction splits in a Japanese temple each queue is unique one themed to the path of the ninja and the other the path of the samurai. This would help re ride ability and bring down wait times. They both end in a different loading bays and board a coaster car with a capacity of 24 per ride.

The bullet train would then enter the caverns of Mount Fuji a 4 minute ride about the culture of Japan ancient and modern. During the last scene of the history section we start up a inclined and at the end  we are launched out a cave in the top of the mountain and going down an Everest sized drop before coming face the the face with legendary Godzilla before we exit into the popular culture shop in the Japan pavilion.

There is also a small expansion plot left for meet the world before it was canceled future imagineers can someday expand the pavilion.
